BibleSprout.com Statement of Faith

What We Believe

We believe in the God of the Bible and in salvation through Jesus Christ alone. We believe in the fallibility of man and the infallibility of the Scripture.

We continue to seek God in all we do – as we live and worship in our day-to-day lives, study the Scriptures, pray, fellowship with other Christians, share our faith and help others grow in their faith.

Our Beliefs About God

We believe in one God, the creator and sustainer of the entire universe. He is self-existent and eternal, and He exists in three persons in one – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Father is the first person of the Trinity. He is over all, in all and through all.

Our Beliefs About Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God, self-existent and eternal. Jesus took on human flesh and was miraculously born of a virgin (Mary) by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is both fully God and fully man, allowing Him to identify with our human nature while still remaining free of sin. His sinless nature and obedience provided us with the payment of our sins through his death on the cross. He was resurrected three days later in fulfillment of God’s word. We believe He will return to earth again to be united with His church.

Our Beliefs About The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is God, self-existent and eternal. We believe He convicts the world of their sin with righteousness and judgment of God. The Holy Spirit lives within all believers from the moment of conversion in Jesus Christ and serves as our helper in our faith.

Our Beliefs About The Bible

We believe the Bible – both the Old and New Testaments – is divinely inspired. Scripture is the infallible, complete and all-sufficient revelation of God. From the beginning to the end, the Bible guides us to the conclusion that salvation only comes through salvation in Jesus Christ alone. It is the source of our faith.

Supporting Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 17:17, Romans 10:17, Luke 24:44-48

Our Beliefs About Sin

We believe sin is part of man’s very being. Having inherited a rebellious nature from Adam, man is separated from God. We are guilty of breaking God’s law, and we ourselves are under the judgment of God. As sinful man we cannot earn God’s favor and are in need of His salvation.

Supporting Scripture: Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 64:6, James 2:10, Romans 6:23a

Our Beliefs About Salvation

We believe that because God is merciful and loving, He desires a relationship with us. However, our sin has separated us from Him. Jesus Christ, as the perfect God-Man, willingly died upon the cross to pay the penalty of our sins, and defeated death through His resurrection. We can receive everlasting life in God’s presence by placing our faith solely in Christ alone.

Supporting Scripture: John 14:6, Romans 10:10, Ephesians 2:4-5, 1 Timothy 2:5

Our Beliefs About Eternity

We believe that we will either live forever in the presence of God or be cast into hell for all eternity. Those who are trusting in Jesus Christ’s death on the cross as the payment for their sins will enter into God’s presence. Those who have not trusted in Jesus Christ will be separated from God for all eternity.

God will establish a new heaven and a new earth, and believers in Christ will be glorified along with Christ, and we will reign with Him.
