How to Face Your Fears

A Biblical Guide to Overcoming Fear

Does watching the evening news cause fear to grow in your heart? When you read about Bible prophecy, do you feel apprehensive about the future? Does hearing about the turmoil in Israel and its tie to Bible prophecy make you want to run and hide?

You do not have to live in fear! If you have Jesus in your life, you have a hope the world does not know and you can take comfort in knowing that regardless of what happens, God is STILL in control! When you feel fear creeping into your heart, take these practical steps to whisk it away!

Wait on the Lord

In Isaiah 40:31 we read, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Focus on Your Heavenly Home

There are no truer words than can be found in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Reach out to others in need

In John 3:16-18, we read, “This is how we know what real love is: Jesus gave his life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers and sisters. Suppose someone has enough to live and sees a brother or sister in need, but does not help. Then God’s love is not living in that person. My children, we should love people not only with words and talk, but by our actions and true caring.”

God does not want you to live in fear! No matter what happens in the days ahead, God can and will give you victory over hopelessness and fear of the future. And when you look to Jesus with trust and faith, your testimony of confidence will speak volumes to the world of the difference Jesus Christ can make.
