Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.

Another name for Jethro is Reuel (verse 2:18).
Horeb is also probably Mt. Sinai, where Moses received the 10 Commandments. That would mean that he would be returned here with the nation of Israel on the way to the promised land.
