Exodus 4:21

And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

It's interesting to see that God softened the Hebrew elders' hearts to listen to and accept Moses (see 3:18), but hardened the Pharaoh's heart to not listen to him!
(Did God soften the elders' hearts or just give Moses the right words to say? I expect a combination of both. Plus, it helped to have the signs (rod to snake, leprous hand, water to blood).)
