Exodus 7:5 - Additional Comments

Here is a critical purpose for the plagues - so it will be obvious to the Egyptians that Jehovah is God and the only god. It is amazing that despite have such a clear view of God's reality, His presence, and His power, they did not attempt in any way to seek or follow Him, as far as we can tell. This shows how people can be presented with great evidence, even totally convincing them of who God is, and yet they still choose not to follow Him. For many people there is no body of evidence that can be presented that will convert them to follow God.
