Jeremiah 26:2 - Additional Comments

God made it very clear where Jeremiah would preach, to who, and what he was to say. There was little room left for Jeremiah to make a mistake of what God wanted, for God made it clear.
God was asking Jeremiah to preach in the heart of where his enemies, the priests, were - in the house of the Lord. The men of Judah had wanted to kill Jeremiah (11:19, 26:8).
God charges Jeremiah not to diminish a word. Why? This was the Words of God. One might be tempted in the face of such opposition to soften the message. But Jeremiah proved to present God's word exactly as He was instructed. May we take upon us this same challenge, to not soften the message, and to tell the hard facts of scripture. See Deut 4:2.
