John 18:34 - Additional Comments

When Pilate asked Him about His position as King of the Jews (vs 33), Jesus asked if this is something he wanted to know, or was he just repeating the claims made by Jesus' accusers? Jesus makes it personal, because it is the same question every person must answer - who do you say Jesus is? Pilate evades a direct answer by stating he shouldn't care since he's not a Jew. Pilate didn't realize Jesus was King over all people, and that everyone would eventually bow down to Him and call Him Lord (Phil 2:9-11).
