John 20:28 - Additional Comments
This is an amazing testimony for a Jew to say "My Lord and my God". Thomas recognizes not only the resurrection, but also the deity of Christ. Thomas professes to believe in what the resurrection proved -- that Jesus is who He said He is -- God.
This is like watching a complex mystery movie, and watching all the pieces of the puzzle come together into a complete and surprising, yet fulfilling, finish. What an incredible job Jesus did. He took the ragamuffin band of 11 apostles, who doubted Jesus at every turn, and transformed them into a band of warriors that could not be conquered. It was seeing Jesus resurrected that completed the work He had to do in their lives to set them up to build His church. This moment is the turning point. It is the moment of transformation.
