John 4:10

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

John 4:10 - Additional Comments

In those days, living water referred to running water, like in a stream, as compared to stagnant water. That's why in vs 11 she doesn't question what living water is, but questions where Jesus would get it.
Jesus was not offended by her rudeness, but responds with kindness, to meet her real need. We are to respond to rudeness in the same way.
