Philip must have been thinking, you've got to be kidding -- how can we get enough to feed this many? Philip was estimating that what they had, about 8 months wages, would not even be enough to give them just a little.
It is in the times of impossibility that we see God the clearest, because we live and are used to what is possible. When God does the impossible we can clearly see His hand at work, and know that it was from Him.
Does God look at your bank account, at the things you own, at your abilities, to determine what ca be done? No. And neither should we.
