Here we have a comparison between what those in the world seek first - their worldly needs, and what we are to seek first - the things of God. This is a real challenge, to seek God above our basic needs, but God promises if we do this He will take care of us.
It is difficult to seek God first if we cannot deny ourselves, to crucify ourselves - Luke 9:23.
Psalm 37:4 says if we delight ourselves in Him, He will not only give us our needs, but also the desires of our hearts.
