Matthew 2:23 - Additional Comments

Nazareth is the city where Joseph and Mary were from (Luke 1:26-27, 2:4).
"He shall be called a Nazarene" appears to be taken from Isaiah 11:1, which refers to "a Branch". The word there is Netzar, which signifies either a branch, or the city of Nazareth; in being from that city, he is declared to be that Branch.
