Matthew 26:37 - Additional Comments

We often feel that if we are troubled, we are not trusting enough in God. These emotions are natural and okay. Jesus shows us that we can have a completely solid relationship with God and still be in anguish or distress in situations. But He also showed us complete trust and submission during those times (verse 39).
Jesus was not in fear, because fear was not in His nature, since perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Jesus was in anguish, but not in fear.
These were the same 3 disciples that were at His transfiguration (Matt 17:1-2).
