Every time your name comes up in my prayers, I say, "Oh, thank you, God!" I keep hearing of the love and faith you have for the Master Jesus, which brims over to other believers. And I keep praying that this faith we hold in common keeps showing up in the good things we do, and that people recognize Christ in all of it. Friend, you have no idea how good your love makes me feel, doubly so when I see your hospitality to fellow believers.

Philemon 1:4 - Additional Comments

Paul was a prayer warrior. This is something we don't often think of when we think of Paul.
Rom 1:9 For God, whom I serve in my spirit in the {preaching of the} gospel of His Son, is my witness {as to} how unceasingly I make mention of you,
Rom 1:10 always in my prayers making request, if perhaps now at last by the will of God I may succeed in coming to you.
Eph 1:15 For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which {exists} among you and (Three early mss do not contain {your love}) your love for all the saints,
Eph 1:16 do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention {of you} in my prayers;
2 Tim 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day,
So often people wonder what it going on in my life and why am I having so much trouble? How often do people consider that it is a lack of regular prayer? I truly believe that one of Paul's greatest assets was his prayer life, and was a significant reason for why his life was so used by God.
"I have so much business I cannot get on without spending three hours daily in prayer." - Martin Luther
"The greatest thing anyone can do for God and man is pray. It is not the only thing; but it is the chief thing. The great people of the earth today are people who pray. I do not mean those who talk about prayer; not those who say they believe in prayer; but I mean these people who take time to pray." - Dick Eastmon
"Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work." - Oswald Chambers
