What a burden for Adam to carry. Because of his sin, every human being is condemned to die. This implies that if Adam had not sinned, we would not be facing death. I don't think so. Others would have been tempted and fallen. Regardless, Adam fell, and others pay the consequences. We have to realize that sin may seem innocent or harmless, or that it will only affect you, but it has broad consequences. You never "get away" with something - there are always consequences.
But praise be to God that even though sin make the road tough, the end of the road is His kingdom (vss 23-24). Every other kingdom will be torn down, and Christ will rule (vss 24-25).
