1 Corinthians 3:1 - The Message

But for right now, friends, I’m completely frustrated by your unspiritual dealings with each other and with God. You’re acting like infants in relation to Christ, capable of nothing much more than nursing at the breast. Well, then, I’ll nurse you since you don’t seem capable of anything more. As long as you grab for what makes you feel good or makes you look important, are you really much different than a babe at the breast, content only when everything’s going your way? When one of you says, "I’m on Paul’s side," and another says, "I’m for Apollos," aren’t you being totally infantile?

1 Corinthians 3:1 - New American Standard Bible

And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:1 - Nueva Biblia Latinoamericana de Hoy

Asì que yo, hermanos, no pude hablarles como a espirituales, sino como a carnales, como a niños en Cristo.

1 Corinthians 3:1 - World English Bible

Brothers, I couldn`t speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babes in Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:1 - Young's Living Translation

And I, brethren, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly -- as to babes in Christ;

1 Corinthians 3:1 - Additional Comments

What things differentiate a babe in Christ with a mature Christian? See Titus 2:2-8.
How long have you been a Christian?
On the scale of babe to maturity, where would you place yourself?
If you are still a babe, why? If you are more mature, are you watering (verse 6) in someone else's life? We need to disciple young Christians, or they will stay babes forever.
Many who have been around the Christian faith for a while don't want to make the effort to disciple. It takes energy, and many are tired, and may feel they need discipling themselves. It is difficult to grow unless you have someone to draw you up (Acts 8:30-31). We should be in both discipler and disciple relationships (2 Tim 2:2).
Remember God causes the growth (verses 6-7).
