Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

The Corinthians had written to Paul, asking him questions. They apparently had questions about sex, marriage, and what is proper.
In the previous chapter (e.g. 6:18), Paul had warned them to avoid sexual immorality, and here he is telling what is correct.
Now, Paul suggest that it is good to avoid, at least for a time, marriage - "it is good for a man not to touch a woman", i.e. not to take her for a wife. Good here does not mean to avoid sin, as some in the past have held to, to promote celibacy and virginity as holy. This "good" means that there are advantages to the individual who remains unmarried, but only if the individual can remain moral - otherwise they should get married (vs 2).
