And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

See the notes on vs 1. You may be puffed up because of your knowledge, but your knowledge is nowhere near what it should be. God has so much more for you to learn. What a paradox it would be if your knowledge of the Scripture made you puffed up, the very words that, the more you know of them, should be taking away pride.
