Samuel is talking about when Saul used to be humble. Now Saul is big in his own eyes.
How do you view yourself? Little or big? Remember that you should not have a warped view of yourself, placing yourself too big, but also placing yourself too little. You need to see yourself as God does, beautify, blessed, loved, and perfect in his design.
