1 Samuel 17:28

And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.

1 Samuel 17:28 - Additional Comments

David's brothers were annoyed and jealous of David (see vs. 16:13). They accused David of having an evil heart, yet we just saw that God chose David because he had a heart for God (vs 16:7). They accused David of a bad heart, when they were the ones with the bad heart. This is like the one who complains about the speck in his brother's eye when he has a log in his own eye (Matt 7:4). We must look in the mirror accurately at our own sin (James 1:23-25).
