At this point what choices did the Israelites see? Was there only one option - to surrender, to give up? Does the weight of the world seem to press down so hard that you sometimes don't know how to fight it anymore? One time at Promise Keepers, one of the speakers gave us a simple suggestion on how to make it - "Never give up!" See Gal 6:9. Never stop relying on God for support, otherwise you have to carry it on your own, and that can get to be too much to carry. See the promises listed in the note on vs 37.
