Sure, Saul should be afraid of David - David had God with him, and was acting wisely. Interesting that David was giving great success to Israel, yet Saul in his jealousy and selfishness hated it. He was not focused on the good of the people, only the good for Saul. People could easily see that in Saul, and easily see David's wisdom, God fearing, and selflessness (vs 16).
