What was it God has commanded? To be "careful to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them." (vs 8).
So, how did the people of Israel react to that command? They paid no attention to it! Think about this - here is the creator of the universe, the ruler of all, the one and true God, and He has requests for them, and they paid no attention. What could be worse in life than to ignore the ruler of life?
The sad thing is we too fall into that trap, where God speaks to us, has requests of us, and we ignore Him. Is there anything God has revealed to you lately, that God has spoken to you, and you have just paid no attention to it? May we pay attention, and receive the riches God has waiting for us, rather than the calamities from ignoring Him (vs 12).
