2 Kings 22:2 - Additional Comments

Josiah was a good person. He was a moral person. But that was not what God wants. He wants what Josiah also did, to follow God, and do what He wanted. Masons do "good", but do not seek what God wants - that is a huge difference. We must not only be seeking what God wants, but obeying what He tells us. He tries to tell you things all the time. Are you listening? You may hear from Him, but then how do you respond? Are you obeying?
What does it mean "he did what was right in the sight of the Lord"? Does it require perfection? Obviously it can't. This means you can still be fallen, still sin, and yet with the right relationship with God, here Him say we did what was right in His eyes.
What would a person of our day be doing to be described like that?
What would be the summary of your life? Are there phases of your life? At the end, will those writing about your life be able to say "he did what was right in the sight of the Lord"? How about if they looked at your life now? And I don't mean looking at it as we look at it, but as God looks at it? Is there a difference? We may say he is doing what is right in the sight of the Lord, but is that the same thing God is saying?
Men keep secrets. Exposing these secrets would mean several things, one being they have to work on it, another being it's a sign of weakness, or at least would be perceived as a sign of weakness. Of those you know, who are struggling with something they have not shared with anyone? What if Jesus sat with you every hour of the week? Oops, he does. Some of you, even smaller struggles, won't share them. You can do it on your own, eh? See and read slowly Eccl 4:9-10.
