And pray that we’ll be rescued from these scoundrels who are trying to do us in. I’m finding that not all "believers" are believers. But the Master never lets us down. He’ll stick by you and protect you from evil.

May God's word "run swiftly" or "spread rapidly". Their goal was not just for those within their hearing, but for it to catch like wildfire through word of mouth, way beyond their realm of influence.
Also, that they would not be hindered by wicked men (vs 2), whose goal it is to stop the spread of the gospel.
