Acts 21:37

Acts 21:37 - Additional Comments

The people spoke Aramaic, even though the New Testament was written in Greek. Greek was generally the written language by those who could write, even though the typically spoke in Aramaic. Note he spoke to the commander in Greek, and to the Jews in Hebrew (vss 21:40-22:2). The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, so the Jews were taught to read and speak Hebrew.
