And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Acts 24:25 - Additional Comments

Felix may have believed what Paul was preaching. He may have believed that God was real, and that Jesus Christ was required for forgiveness of sins. He may have accepted all the Paul taught about Jesus. What was missing?
Rom 10:9 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Answer - making Jesus Lord of his life, turning his life over to Jesus. Felix was still at the throne, not Jesus. The "Lord " is the one who is obeyed. Who do you obey, you own desires or emotions, or the desires of God? once you've given your life to Jesus, this is not a simple answer, and we daily must give ourself to God. We must "take up our cross daily" (see notes on Luke 9:23).
