Ephesians 5:20 - Additional Comments

1 Thess 5:18 says "in everything give thanks".
And who is ultimately the source of all things? God. And thus, He is to be the one we are thanking.
And when and for what in our life do we give thanks? Always, for all things. Even the things we don't really want in our life. Even things in the past. Are there things in your life that you have never been able to give thanks to God for? This goes back to the list of things we covet, for it also shows things in our life we are not happy with:
* Money
* Possessions (e.g. homes, cars, clothes, etc.)
* Beauty / Appearance
* Popularity / Friends
* Credentials / Colleges
* Jobs
* Talents / Abilities (intellectual, sporting, or otherwise)
* A dating relationship
* Marriage
* Ability to have Children
* Being Good Parents
* Independence
