Ezekiel 1:1 - Additional Comments

Ezekiel was a prophet during the Captivity. He was carried away to Bablyon around 597 BC (with Judah's King Jehoiachin, 2 Kings 24:11-16), 11 years before Jerusalem was destroyed. (The Assyrian captivity of Israel had been 120 years earlier.)
The Captivity lasted 70 years, from 606-536 BC. Ezekiel was there from 597 to at least 570 BC.
