Genesis 1:5 - Additional Comments

Interesting that God created night and day before He created the Sun and the stars (on the fourth day).
Here's the sequence of the first seven days:
- Day 1, the creation of the heavens, the earth, and light (vs 3-5)
- Day 2, the atmosphere (i.e. firmament), separating the waters above and below (vs 6-8); see also 2:6
- Day 3, the sea, the dry land, grass, and fruit trees (vs 9-13)
- Day 4, the heavenly bodies (the lights of heaven, the stars, the sun, and the moon) (vs 14-19)
- Day 5, the fish and birds (vs 20-23)
- Day 6, the land animals (vs 24-25) and man (vs 26-28, 2:7)
- Day 7, the review and approval of the whole work (vs 31), rest (2:1-2), and blessing and sanctifying the seventh day (2:3)
It is unclear when the garden and the woman were made (2:8-25)
