Genesis 41:33 - Additional Comments

Joseph foresaw the trials that were to come, and suggested what needed to be done to avoid them. The prudent man foresees trouble and avoids it when possible (Prov 4:14-15). Some situations we'd need all the grace we could get to stay out of trouble, so it's better just to stay as far away as possible.
Do you ever hesitate to offer a suggestion for improvement because of the work that would be involved? Not Joseph. See Prov 6:6-8.
In general it is important for projects to have a single person as the primary point person for the project, and Joseph recognized this. Pharaoh's magicians probably would not have offered this, for they could not interpret what was to happen.
Here Joseph was of no stature in the Pharaoh's court, but he teaching the "wise men" wisdom (Eccl 4:13), and Pharaoh recognized it (vs 38-39). See comments on wisdom in Proverbs 1:7.
Without God's wisdom, Egypt would have perished. The same goes for today - "Unless you repent you will all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3). It also is true for your daily life.
