Genesis 50:17

So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

Genesis 50:17 - Additional Comments

This was peculiar, because as far as we know Joseph never revealed to his father what his brothers had done to him, and so why would Jacob ask Joseph to forgive them?
Note that forgiveness is something that is not one time, it needs to be ongoing, forever.
