Habakkuk 1:6 - Additional Comments

The term Neo-Babylonian or Chaldean refers to Babylonia under the rule of the 11th ("Chaldean") dynasty, from the revolt of Nabopolassar in 626 BC until the invasion of Cyrus the Great in 539 BC, notably including the reign of Nebuchadnezzar.
The Babylonian king Nabopolassar, along with Cyaxares the Mede, destroyed Nineveh (capital of Assyria) in 612 BC, and Assyria fell.
The Northern Kingdom fell to the Assyrian Empire 720 BC but the Kingdom of Judah survived for almost 350 years until it was conquered in 586 BC by the Babylonian Empire under Nebuzar-adan, captain of Nebuchadnezzar's body-guard (2 Kings 25:8-21). This event coincided with the destruction of the First Temple of Jerusalem and with the Babylonian Captivity.
Note is says the Chaldeans take land that is not rightfully theirs - they have the might but don't have the right.
