Hosea 3:1

Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

Gomer is no longer living with Hosea. We are not told the details of how - she probably left him. But she is living with another man.
God now gives Hosea a second bizarre command - fall in love with Gomer all over again... "according to the love of the Lord". God told Hosea to learn to love his wayward wife like the Lord loves wayward Israel.
