James 2:13 - Additional Comments
In the law of liberty (verse 12), we are shown mercy by God, and as such we are to show mercy to others, rather than judge them. How do you treat others, with judgment or with mercy?
God was so merciful to us, in that despite our pile of sins we have committed, are still committing, and will commit, God has the mercy on us to overlook them through Christ. Who are we then to be unforgiving and not overlook the sins of others, and to have mercy on them the same was Christ did on us? Do we have a higher standard than God? May God, through Christ, give us the ability to have mercy on others, and to forgive them, in the same manner that we are forgiven.
