James 4:3

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Face it, we all struggle with pride, with selfishness, with wanting our way. We need to recognize this war in ourselves, submit to God (vs 7), and resist the devil (vs 7).
