This is not how we typically picture Jesus. We always see Him as stoic, unmoved. Yet, He had deep emotions. This shows that God has deep emotions for and with us.
Notice that the mourners, the family, and Jesus all were weeping, yet Lazarus' eternal destiny was with God. They are weeping for the separation, not for the eternal outcome. It is natural and proper to weep when someone dies, even if they are going to heaven.
