John 11:48 - Additional Comments

This seems to be the epitome of selfishness -- they could care less about the healing, how Jesus was improving these lives -- they only cared for their gain. And in the same act lost God. The Messiah they supposedly sought for so long was right in front of them, but they could not see it.
The Pharisees could not follow Jesus, because Jesus threatened their positions and power. This was more important to them than finding the Messiah -- see vss. 49-52.
