John 11:8 - Additional Comments

They sought to stone Him when He was recently in the temple (8;59), right after he declared "I AM".
They disciples put Jesus' power in a box (as Martha does later in this chapter). They underestimated His power, and that He was in control. We need to know that no matter how out of control the circumstances seem, He is in control. Trust, relay, watch.
Were the disciples concerned about Jesus or themselves? They disciples probably also may have had a secret fear of pain harm if they went to Jerusalem (see verse 16). We need to be careful not to promote something as spiritually motivated when it is because of selfish desires.
