Life's problems at their root are spiritual problems, and need to be solved or understood from a spiritual perspective.
Jesus knew we must remain in a troubled world, and that we would have tribulation. His prayer was that Satan would now have influence on them. Bottom line is their relationship with Him and their character / obedience.
