John 17:4 - Additional Comments

"Glorify" means to radiate, to shine forth, to leave an impression. This is what Jesus did. He is saying He left an accurate, favorable impression of God on the earth.
How did He do that? He gives the answer - He finished the work God gave Him to do.
Commitment - "I did my assignment."
A student turned in his term paper. On it was written "Great paper! Great content! Grade F! You didn't do the assignment!"
Is there great content in your life, but you are doing the wrong assignment? Are you putting time and energy into what He hasn't assigned?
If you do your assignment, you glorify Him - you leave a favorable impression of Him.
