John 20:20

And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD.

John 20:20 - Additional Comments

Jesus' resurrected body did not have to retain the nail and sword wounds (for the internal wounds had been restored). This was to show them He was physically the same Jesus who was crucified, not a spirit.
The disciples, since they were all together, probably restrained themselves, compared to how they would have reacted individually. This says they were "glad", but I imagine the feelings inside them were more like elation.
