Joshua 1:16

They chose to respect the leader God had given them. Regarding respecting our leaders:
- receive them with gladness and hold them in high esteem (Phil 2:29-30)
- recognize them, esteem them highly (1 Thess 5:12-13)
- give them double honor (1 Tim 5:17)
- Let them rule over you with joy; be submissive (Heb 13:17)
