Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it.

We need to take a stand for God, in our family, in our community, in our work, in our country. We need to expect opposition. Not everyone is going to be happy with the changes you're making.
George Carlin, in an interview with the Associated Press, blamed and mocked religion and politics on the recent efforts to curb profanity and nudity on TV (3/13/04). He's reacting much in the same way the Baal worshippers reacted when Gideon tried to clean up Israel.
