Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the LORD.

The reason why God requires perfection in the sacrifice (and in the priest who presents the offerings to the Lord - Lev 21:17-23) is, I expect, because the sacrifice must be absolutely perfect. Therefore, the only person that could ever have become the sacrifice for all is Jesus Christ (Heb 4:15).
