Wow! What a long trip to be away from your home and husband-to-be, who himself must be marveling at all the circumstances, and missing her in this emotional time. Possibly God wanted her away, to avoid gossip about her being with child and unwed. They married soon after she became pregnant - Matt 1:18, 24-25.
