Luke 19:38 - Additional Comments

The people here viewed Jesus as King, but they certainly didn't a few days from then, during the arrest, trial, and execution! They were expecting an earthly king who would soon begin his reign. No one expected the tragedy to come.
May we praise and honor Jesus, both in times of great joy and blessings, and in the tough times also.
Christ is the king, although not in the way they expected. He came in the name of the Lord, clothed with divine authority, commissioned from heaven to give law and peace. Blessed be he, meaning He is worthy to be praised.
This is similar to the praise the angels gave Him at His birth - Luke 2:14.
Alas, the peace that Jesus brought was to be seen in heaven and in hearts, not on the earth, for Jesus admits He did not bring peace on earth, but a sword, for in His name there would be many battles - Matt 10:34-39.
