This is how we are to react to persecution - give our testimony, not back down. The great thing is we don't have to worry about what to say in those situations - God will give us the answer (vss 14-15), that our persecutors can't contradict.
And this persecution could come from anyone, including friends and family, and from lots of people (vs 16-17).
But they cannot touch our souls (vs 18-19).
