Luke 5:11 - Additional Comments
Wow - here Jesus had given them what probably was the best day financially of their lives, and they forsook their business to follow Him. They valued God over money - for you cannot serve both (Luke 16:13). Does God's blessings on your life make you want more of the blessings or more of Him?
Note that following Jesus is not easy - they gave up all they had to follow Him. We are asked to value Him more than any family (Luke 14:26), than our own life (Luke 14:26). We are asked to bear our own cross daily to follow Him (Luke 9:23, 14:27). Do these things describe your relationship with Jesus?
