Mark 15:22 - Additional Comments
Golgotha, the Greek name for the place of Jesus' crucifixion, aka Calvary, the Latin/English name for it, was called the Place of a Skull either because it was a common place for executions, and there were skulls strewn over it, or because its physical contour was shaped like a skull. See the doc "Jesus trip to the cross".
